SEPA Instant Payments – The new pace in payments and cash management

To coincide with the launch of the "Verification of Payee" on 9 October, we had the opportunity to discuss the new pace of payments with over 100 of our customers and partners. Real-time payments, automation and treasury innovations were at the centre of a day full of inspiration, practical demonstrations and exchange.

Participants were given a concise overview of the impact of the new EU directive on European payments. Expert speakers explained the technical and regulatory adjustments that will be required in future - particularly with regard to the new API interface for matching IBANs and payee names. Practical examples were used to show how Instant Payments and Verification of Payee (VoP) can already be integrated and implemented in MultiCash today.

Another focus was on the use and analysis of real-time data in corporate banking. The requirements for systems that enable 24/7 real-time treasury as well as practical solutions for cash management and cash flow planning with MultiCash were discussed.

Innovations were not neglected either: initiatives for using Artificial Intelligence in software development and service provision were presented, supplemented by practical reports on the establishment of a MultiCash in-house bank, the use of virtual accounts with MultiCash Transfer and the implementation of EBAM and Request to Pay.

The Lindner Hotel Cologne provided the perfect setting for a multifaceted event at which numerous customers and interested parties made best use of the opportunity for personal dialogue. At the subsequent get-together, the topics were discussed in greater depth in a relaxed atmosphere. On the following day, workshops for MultiCash users rounded off the programme - with a focus on practical implementation, valuable tips and best practices for day-to-day work.

The exchange with our customers and direct contact with the grassroots, the feedback that we can then incorporate directly into our product management and further product development, is simply incredibly valuable – a contribution that is of great importance to us.

In October 2025, multicash Communication Day focused on the upcoming changes in electronic banking. A key topic was the mandatory introduction of SEPA Instant Payments in November 2026, which will set new standards in European payment transactions.

The multicash system solutions in version 5.0 demonstrated how companies are optimally equipped for the changes in transaction banking. High-profile speakers provided exciting insights into current developments and presented practical solutions for successful use in everyday financial communications.

The multicash Communication Day 2025 was thus a complete success – two days of intensive exchange, valuable expertise and inspiring discussions in Cologne on the future of electronic banking.
